JUST what the Doctor ordered!
Morgan Doctor, an American artist who released her latest LP earlier this year, is offering up a slice of her new ambient instrumental sound to Sound Advice, in the form of West Coast.
A spokesman for Aporia Records said: “Her first fully instrumental album, Major Over Minor came together after three years of soul searching that started when she left a band (The Cliks) and a relationship.
“The ambient electronic album is about that time, full of contemplation and hopefulness.”

THE Almighty Rhombus are an almighty band – they have an almighty name, they had almighty fun making their latest single, and the most almighty thing of all is they’ve agreed to give it away on Sound Advice.
In the making of the song and its video, the group “played baseball, saw dinosaurs, jumped off a cliff (like dinosaurs would), synchronised our swims, got drunk, ‘pretended’ we were ghosts, and had a ton of unnamed summer adventures” as well as playing their instruments when required.
A band spokesman said: “Our debut LP Lucid Living is out October 29 on Cosmic Dave Records.
“We didn’t want our extended family members to wait any longer for new music, so we released a single. You can download the song Blank free.”

AS ELECTRONIC producer DAVIDS has been kind enough to offer up a free download for Sound Advice, we’ll refrain from calling him Davids, David’s, Dave, Davy, Davo, Dafydd or anything.
We love you as much as you love CAPS LOCK, DAVIDS!
DAVIDS said: “When I moved back home with my parents I started making electronic music.
“They didn’t seem to mind.
“The ‘0613EP’ doesn’t come out until June 4th.
“You’re getting to listen before my family does.”

AUSTIN band Black Books, who release their eponymous debut on Monday, are celebrating with a cover of The Cardigans’ classic Lovefool.
The band, which also embarks on a first UK tour this month taking in London, Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham, said: “If Romeo + Juliet hadn’t come out when we were angst-ridden middle schoolers it may not have meant so much to us… but it did, and we ate it up.
“There’s no denying that ridiculous soundtrack.
“Since we started playing music together when this was all over MTV, we decided to cover The Cardigans’ Lovefool.
“They made us want to fall madly in love… and then kill ourselves.”
