News: Bill boosted at Download Festival

DOWNLOAD Festival has announced that a further 25 acts have been added to this year’s line up, including Thunder, Kvelertak, Devin Townsend and We Are The Ocean.
Headlined by Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein, Download Festival takes place June 14-16 at Donington Park.
Also added to the bill are Zico Chain, Blood Command, Black Moth, The Wild Lies, The Howling, Page 44, and Wounds.
And the acoustic Jagermeister Stage, as well as stripped down performances from acts from the other stages over the weekend, will see Hear Kitty Kitty, Toseland, Rob Lynch, Acoustic TV, Straight Lines, Fahran, The Killing Floor, The Afterparty, Pig Iron, Night x Night, Crash Mansion, The Graveltones, Arthemis and Avosetta playing, alongside acoustic performances from the likes of Devin Townsend, We Are the Ocean, Walking Papers, Buffalo Summer, Crowns, Heaven’s Basement, Skin and Red White & Blues.

PAPA Roach, Rise To Remain, Gogol Bordello, Lit, Escape The Fate and Blitz Kids are amongst the 49 new acts added to the Download 2013 line up.
Download Festival takes place in Donington Park on 14-16 June 2013 and is headlined by Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein.
Taking on the world, this year’s lineup continues to bring the best international rock acts from every corner of the globe to one festival site. Confirmed for their fourth appearance at Download Festival are US rockers Papa Roach. 2013 marks the band’s 20th anniversary and they will celebrate by bringing hits like ‘Last Resort’, ‘Scars’, ‘She Loves Me Not’, and ‘Getting Away With Murder’ to a sea of mosh in Donington Park.
Joining Papa Roach are London metallers Rise To Remain, New York gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello, Californian alt-rockers Lit, US post-hardcore band Escape The Fate and fresh from their tour with Lower Than Atlantis, UK rockers Blitz Kids.
Buckcherry are welcomed back to Download Festival for a third time while Uriah Heep, regarded as one of the seminal rock acts of the earlyseventies, will make their Download Festival debut. Multi-million selling Grammy nominated nu metallers P.O.D join the bill, and following the release of their four-song EP earlier this year, titled Metal, Newsted, fronted by Metallica’s long-serving former bassist Jason Newsted, are ready to rock in Donington.
It’s a battle of Scandinavia’s finest and Europe are sure to ‘Rock The Night’, joined by Swedish metallers Katatonia and hard rock band Graveyard. From across the way, Finnish Viking metallers Turisas are also confirmed.
Ready to thrash out some serious heavy metal are Japan’s Dir En Grey. Jetting in fresh from the US are bloodthirsty death metallers Nekrogoblikon, After TheBurial, The Ghost Inside, Blacklist Royals and stoner rockers Red Fang. Aussie rockers Karnivool and Naked Flame are also announced, and bringing a taste of fierce French heavy metal are The Algorithm.
Closer to home, Brit rockers Skin and Sacred Mother Tongue will take Download by the horns, joined by Brit metalcore groups Bury Tomorrow and Architects. Fresh from touring with Cancer Bats, Brutality Will Prevail and Reading prog-metal group Empress are also both confirmed.
Continuing to rock out for the regions are Cornish folk punk group Crowns, Midlandsheavy rockers Emperor Chung, Manchester 5-piece Sonic Boom Six, Scotland’s States of Panic and Bleed From Within, Brighton rockers Verses, UK alt-pop band Hill Valley High and Cardiff’s Astroid Boys. Tipped as one of the hottest breakthrough artists of this year are Exeter’s I Divide, joined by fellow Exeter rockers Rat Attack and LondonersMordecai, Modestep and Hang The Bastard.
Last but certainly not least are UK heavyweight groove metal quintet Heart Of A Coward, York’s Glamour of the Kill, Coventry rockers Silent Screams and Birmingham’s Cytota. Rockers The First and Broken also join the bill, and providing some gloriously twisted rock & roll Cambridge style are Uncle Acid and the Dead Beats.

News: Papa Roach confirmed for Download 2013

ROCK band Papa Roach will be performing at Download Festival in Castle Donington this Summer.
The news comes after a self-confirmation on Facebook from frontman Jacoby Shaddix – who also let the band’s visit to Donington Park slip early before they played in 2009.

News: Download uploads 37 new bands to line-up

DOWNLOAD festival has added 37 new names to its 2013 line-up – including Limp Bizkit, Jimmy Eat World, Down, Korn and more.
The Castle Donington festival has already named head-liners Slipknow, Iron Maiden and Rammstein for the event on June 14-16.
The full list of new names is Airbourne, Amon Amarth, Asking Alexandria, Black Dogs, Buffalo Summer, Cancer Bats, Converge, Down, Earthtone 9, Enter Shikari, Five Finger Death Punch, Goldsboro, Hacktivist, Hardcore Superstar, Heaven’s Basement, Hell Yeah, The Hives, Huntress, IAMI, In This Moment, Jimmy Eat World, Korn, Last Witness, Limp Bizkit, Motionless In White, Parkway Drive, The Sword, 3 Doors Down, UFO, Vision Of Disorder, Walking Papers, and Young Guns.
A spokesman said: “These are incredible additions to the 2013 line-up, for what’s set to be the biggest weekend in the rock calendar at the ‘home of rock’, Donington Park.”

News: Coal Chamber scuttle onto Download bill

THE reformed Coal Chamber have been confirmed for next year’s Download festival in Castle Donington.
The news was broken on the official Download Facebook earlier thsi week, and has spread around the internet like a house on fire.
A spokesman said: “The Download social media team put together a campaign on Facebook earlier today, where by a band would be revealed once this post got 25,000 likes.
“We were overwhelmed by the amount of fans that hit the like button, and we achieved our target in a little over 2 hours – nice work everyone!”

News: Bullet For My Valentine shoot themselves onto Download bill

BULLET For My Valentine have been confirmed for next summer’s Download Festival.
The band managed to slip the secret out by posting the appearance as part of their tour dates on their website.
Festival booker Andy Copping said: “Let’s take bets as to who else will ‘leak’ their Download appearance!
“Yes, Bullet For My Valentine are doing Download 2013.”

News: Download add seven of the best

WHAT’S that coming over the hill? Is it a monster, is it a monster of rock?
Seven more massive names in the world of metal and rock have been signed up for next summer’s Download Festival.
Joining headliners Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Slipknot at Donington Park on June 14-16 will be Queens Of The Stone Age, 30 Seconds To Mars, The Gaslight Anthem, Motorhead, HIM, Alice In Chains and A Day To Remember.
A spokesman said: “Download Festival is well and truly turning the heat up as a further seven bands are announced for one incredible weekend.”

News: Slipknot unmasked as third Download headliner

SLIPKNOT will be the third headliner at Download Festival next June14.
The band’s second headline appearance following an explosive set in 2009 sees them join Iron Maiden and Rammstein at the top of the bill for the Castle Donington festival.
Slipknot’s Clown said: “We are extremely honored to have been asked once again to headline the Download Festival.
“This most definitely will be an experience not to be missed. Every time we’ve played Download we have created memories.
“Its always good to have the church of the Knot, the alter of the Knot, giving the sermon of the Knot to the congregation of the Knot, the culture of the Knot. This summer cannot come soon enough. Partake in the imagination or don’t bitch.”
Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at festival bookers Live Nation, said: “Slipknot’s last appearance at Download has gone down in the festival’s history as one of the best ever headline sets. News: Donington to say guten tag to Rammstein

RAMMSTEIN have been unveiled as the second headliner for Download 2013, hot on the heels of Iron Maiden last night.
The gig will be the first time ever that the German industrial metallers will have played at the legendary Donington Park.
Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at Live Nation, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Rammstein to Donington for the very first time.
“They are an epic live act and a perfect Sunday headliner to cap off what is shaping up to be yet another fantastic Download festival.”
When asked how it felt to be playing Download, Rammstein said: “It’s only a festival, not a moon landing.”
