SLIPKNOT will be the third headliner at Download Festival next June14.
The band’s second headline appearance following an explosive set in 2009 sees them join Iron Maiden and Rammstein at the top of the bill for the Castle Donington festival.
Slipknot’s Clown said: “We are extremely honored to have been asked once again to headline the Download Festival.
“This most definitely will be an experience not to be missed. Every time we’ve played Download we have created memories.
“Its always good to have the church of the Knot, the alter of the Knot, giving the sermon of the Knot to the congregation of the Knot, the culture of the Knot. This summer cannot come soon enough. Partake in the imagination or don’t bitch.”
Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at festival bookers Live Nation, said: “Slipknot’s last appearance at Download has gone down in the festival’s history as one of the best ever headline sets. God knows what they’ll have in store for 2013 but I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll top the last one.”
DJ-TURNED-singer-songwriter Fink’s fantastic work is set to be showcased with a new 80 page book and live album, Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet.
And to celebrate the release, on October 8, Fink has been kind enough to offer up a free download of track Fear Is Like Fire.

RAMMSTEIN have been unveiled as the second headliner for Download 2013, hot on the heels of Iron Maiden last night.
The gig will be the first time ever that the German industrial metallers will have played at the legendary Donington Park.
Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at Live Nation, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Rammstein to Donington for the very first time.
“They are an epic live act and a perfect Sunday headliner to cap off what is shaping up to be yet another fantastic Download festival.”
When asked how it felt to be playing Download, Rammstein said: “It’s only a festival, not a moon landing.”
ENGLISH rock legends Iron Maiden are to headline next summer’s Castle Donington metal fest Download.
The announcement of the veteran’s place atop the bill with their Maiden England show was made tonight.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to be headlining Donington again. The idea of returning exactly 25 years later with a show inspired by that same 1988 “Seventh Son” Tour, was too good an opportunity to be missed!
“And, thanks to modern technology, we’ve been able to update and improve on the original production. We will be bringing a huge new lightshow, stage set, various incarnations of Eddie, plenty of pyro and allkinds of other exciting stuff for the fans.
“And of course treating the fans to lots of their favourite songs from that period!
“We’ve had many great times at Donington and there is always a wonderful mix of bands and a really wild crowd who love their metal, all of which makes for a memorable show and fantasticparty atmosphere!”

That’s what I am right now, after learning metal legends Deftones are giving away hot slices of new album pie.
Leathers is the first taste of Koi No Yokan, which will be released in full on November 13.
You can get your mp3 at the official Deftones site, http://www.deftones.com – but be quick, it’s for a limited time only!
IN SOME respects you never know what to expect from off-the-wall DJ Kid Koala – oddball samples, unexpected projects, free videogames, etc.
However you can expect, as I suspected when I fingered 12 Bit Blues as a potential album of the year a few months ago, excellence – and Koala, real name Eric San, has once again delivered.
Using a newly-acquired E-mu SP-1200 sampler – an ‘old skool’ piece of hip hop production equipment San had wanted since he was a youngster – Kid Koala has cut up and reordered the sounds that came out of grizzled old bluesmen.
Koala clearly enjoyed the exercise, adding a turntablist dimension to the riffs and moans of bluesmen, and the results are upbeat and joyful, the happiest blues music you’re likely to have heard in a long time.
AUDIO expirimentor Chris Lawhorn has cut and reconstructed the entire Fugazi back catalogue for a new charity album.
Lawhorn – whose previous works include recording the same piece three times, once with computers and electronics, once with acoustic instruments, and once with rubber bands and glasses of water – has been given permission by the band to create an album of instrumental tracks sampling their songs.
He said: “The album’s been in the works for almost two years. It’s entirely instrumental and combines over 100 Fugazi samples with a variety of effects.
“Ian Mackaye (from the band and their label Dischord) has authorized the album’s release. And, the profit from will be donated to a pair of charities – one that works with senior citizens in Washington, D.C. and another that provides aid globally to folks impacted by disaster and civil unrest.”
